Happy Valentine's Day to anyone and everyone who takes the time to read this blog!!! It is quite personal for me, so I appreciate you spending the time to read my posts. In the spirit of love for the day (I'm ignoring the blatant commercialism), I am not going to post of any troubles today. I want to send a lot of love to my friends and family for loving me, for being there for me, for any small act that I'm sure has meant a lot to me. I love everyone who reads this just for trying to understand a little bit more about something that affects me so deeply on a daily basis. I have even "met" via email some awesome women who also struggle with endometriosis and so lots of love for everyone suffering with this disease... I know it affects everyone differently and very personally. So this Valentine's Day, send a little love to someone struggling with endometriosis... it may be a commercial holiday, but I can assure you she will take all the love and support she can get!
(Thank you to my Friend, MH, for the lovely Valentine's Day card and wonderful words and to my Sister for sending flowers to my mom and letting me share them!)
Since I am off-topic anyway, I would like to thank the people who are reading this blog faithfully. It's an important thing to me. I would love to get more comments/interaction going. I welcome any questions or thoughts you may have, whether you are family or stranger. I also would like to spread awareness about my struggle and the struggle other women go through with endometriosis so that maybe even one person who is diagnosed with this will have an easier time of it than I did. So if you are reading this, perhaps you could send this link out to one person you know, whether a woman who understands the struggle of endometriosis or a friend you think may not even know it exists. I think it would be an easier disease to live with if more people were aware of its existence... for support, research, advocacy, daily interactions and more.
I think you are right about awareness...most of us have heard of endometriosis, but either didn't know anyone with it, or how it really impacted someone who does. Thanks for sharing it so intimately...and Happy Valentine's Day to you and others with this condition. Love you! SR
